The Lions Club of Calicut was chartered on 31st December 1959, when 31 young men of the city came together with the noble purpose of serving the society in which they lived. From those humble beginnings, the club has grown steadily and today proudly stands strong with 131 members.
The club also had the distinct honour of including Field Marshal K. M. Cariappa among its members, who would travel all the way from Mercara whenever possible to be with us.
The Lions Club of Calicut was instrumental in bringing the spirit and movement of Lionism to Kerala. We gratefully acknowledge the Lions Club of Coimbatore for sponsoring our club and supporting our founding journey.
To empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions clubs.
To be the global leader in community and humanitarian service — a club whose members are recognized as people who truly make a difference.
We serve with integrity, build lasting relationships, embrace diversity, and demonstrate the Lions spirit of service in everything we do.
